puce-ftt 14/01/2008 - Oregon universities join forces to market technologies in web portal

The trend toward collaboration among TTOs is gathering steam, as more universities look to bundle their IP and enhance its value. But collaboration can take other forms as well, as several Oregon universities are demonstrating with a new web marketing initiative. Technology transfer officials at Oregon Health & Science University, Portland State University, Oregon State University, and University of Oregon are working together to create an online listing of all university research available for licensing at their institutions.

Dana Bostrom, director of innovation and industry alliances at Portland State, says the new web site, dubbed the Oregon Innovation Portal, will not only help find more licensees for the schools' separate inventions, but it will serve as a first step toward a farther reaching collaboration in the form of IP bundling.
